FRANCISCO DE GOYA tenía 70 años cuando creó “TAUROMAQUIA”, serie de 33 grabados sobre escenas taurinas . Utilizó técnicas de aguafuerte y aguatinta. Desde su juventud a Goya le gustaron mucho las Corridas de toros. Algunos de estos grabados fueron concebidos para ilustrar el texto de Moratín “ Carta histórica sobre los orígenes y progresos de las corridas de toros en España” , publicado en 1777. El Museo de la Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, alberga la más importante colección de grabados de Francisco de Goya. Esta colección, sin duda, contribuye a un más profundo entendimiento del significado de la antigua tradición de las Corridas de Toros.. Este museo está ubicado en la calle Alcalá 13 de Madrid. Y su horario de visita es de Martes a Domingo de 10 a 15 horas

Since he was Young he liked bullfights very much. Some of these prints were made to ilustrate the text by Moratín “Historical Letter about the origins and progress of bullfights in Spain, publised in 1777.
